ADL to supply 13 Enviro500 to Lausanne

Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) will deliver 13 Enviro500 double deck buses to Transport publics de la région lausannoise in Lausanne, Switzerland. Entering service from July 2019, the buses will replace and enlarge tl’s double deck fleet.

The 13-metre, three-axle buses will run regional routes to provide connections between the city and the countryside. They will have capacity for 120 passengers, 79 of them seated, with 52 of those seats upstairs. ADL will adapt the buses to local requirements, abiding by the Continental European vehicle height limit of four metres.

This is ADL’s second contract for double deck buses in Europe after an order for 19 Enviro500s was placed by PostAuto for operation in Eastern Switzerland. These have been in service since mid-2017.

“We’re delighted that tl have chosen ADL to supply new double deck buses for the Lausanne region and surrounding areas,” said Colin Robertson, ADL Chief Executive. “Operators, driver and passengers will enjoy the benefits of our Enviro500, which is built to the high standards that have made us the world market leader in double deck buses.”
