Loadmac, is now being ‘powered by product innovations’ and has created a new UK sales network.
B ASED IN Ross on Wye, Loadmac, the only
truck-mounted forklift
manufactured in Britain, is now offering customers 2.5 tonne and 2
tonne machines and claims steady growth in its market share over the last ve years. The company has identi ed 2019 as an important year in their growth ambitions and in a signal of their intent, Loadmac has appointed Atlas Cranes UK to be responsible for all sales and aftersales of the product to UK customers.
Loadmac managing director Mark Hignett explains: ‘Our product is proven the world over. We have a presence across Europe, we are growing rapidly in North America and we are market leader in Australia. Now is the time to use this platform to focus our attention on the domestic UK market and Atlas is the perfect partner to help us achieve this.’
Atlas Cranes UK is a division of German company Atlas GmbH, and provides a wide range of small, medium and large truck loader cranes to customers nationwide. The Loadmac product will be dual-branded in the UK and sold in the Atlas signature orange brand colour through a network of 50 service centres and mobile engineers.
Managing director Jim Smith believes the Loadmac range will be a perfect t
for their product portfolio: ‘It makes total sense for us. We will be selling the product to the same type of customers we are already working with.
‘We pride ourselves on being able to provide our customers with a ‘one stop shop’ solution and Loadmac will ll that gap in our offer. Our engineers will be able to service both cranes and forklifts at the same time, meaning big operational advantages for our customers too.’

NEW NAME FOR TRUCK
‘Most importantly for us though, it’s a top class product and the fact that it is manufactured in the UK means we can offer customers unrivalled lead times and competitive pricing.’
The ambitions of the company are further supported by a series of product innovations being launched in 2019, including the new Loadmac 225 which will be available in the UK this year. Aimed at the growing demand for compact truck-mounted forklifts it
offers 2,500kg lift capacity in a low- emissions machine that only weighs 2,000kg to 2,200kg depending on speci cation, and available as a standard truck-mounted forklift or with the latest multi-directional (four-way steering) technology. Additionally, the Loadmac iSR (integrated second reach) continues to provide hauliers with a solution for one side of oad, reaching the full width of
a trailer bed and capable of double stacking (even inside a curtainsider)
with standard forks.
Mark Hignett concluded: ‘There is a ‘Transit’ and a ‘Hoover’, in our industry, we all know who they are. Our mission this year is to disrupt that stronghold, and position Loadmac as the new name for truck-mounted forklifts.’
