Martin Hay has been appointed as the new Managing Director for Scania (Great Britain) Limited. He will take the post from 1 September, succeeding Claes Jacobsson who is taking up a new role with Scania AB in Södertälje.
Martin Hay has been with Scania for almost three decades now, having worked in the dealer network, at importer level and at Scania’s headquarters in Sweden. Since 2016, Martin has been working in Sweden as Vice President – Truck Sales, where he helped oversee the introduction of Scania’s new generation trucks.
“I have been extremely fortunate to work for Scania in Sweden during this exciting period for the business, and it is now an absolute pleasure to be returning to Scania (Great Britain) Limited,” said Hay.
He added: “The UK is one of Scania’s most successful and important markets worldwide, and I am looking forward to rejoining the team and working with them and our customers as we continue to develop the market and drive the shift towards more sustainable transport solutions.”
Claes Jacobson commented: “Having working with Martin during his time at both Scania (Great Britain) Limited and Scania AB, I know he will do an excellent job for Scania in the UK going forward.
“For my part, I have enjoyed five fantastic years in Great Britain and it is with a heavy heart that I say farewell to the many friends – colleagues, customers and suppliers – I have made during my time here.”
