Volvo Trucks has taken an order for eight FH Globetrotter trucks, which leads its fleet round-up for August.
K1 Logistics spends big in its first ever Volvo Trucks order
South Wales transport and haulage company K1 Logistics has placed its first ever order with Volvo Group for eight new FH Globetrotter trucks, which are expected to travel 120,000km a year, and replace older trucks sold to the company by an unnamed rival manufacturer.
Six of these new twelve-wheeler HGVs have already been delivered to the company’s headquarters in Llantrisant, and two more identical trucks are on the way. This comes after K1 Logistics were given a trial run in a demo model, where the truck’s advantages became apparent.
“During our trial, we saw significant fuel savings which we project could yield a £10,000 annual cost saving per truck compared to the older vehicles we have on the fleet”, says company director Kurt Evans.
New FH Globetrotter joins A C Services hauling fleet
Banbury-based AC Services has also invested in its first new Volvo truck, also opting for the FH Globetrotter chassis. The family-run haulage business bought the new eight-wheeler using a hire purchase finance plan, after being impressed by the used Volvo trucks that it has operated in the past.
Company director Richard Coleman says that he chose the Volvo marque for this latest purchase as driver comfort and happiness were top priorities, and adds that he was impressed by the FH Globetrotter’s “long-term value potential”.
