Mercedes-Benz delivers Arocs vacuum tanker

Mercedes-Benz announced three fleet sales in the month of August, including the sale of another vaccum tanker to long-standing customer Binder

Transport trucks, concrete mixers and vacuum tankers – Mercedes-Benz sealed three fleet sales in the month of August, as customers placed orders for the brand’s Acros and Econic models.

Binder buys new Arocs vacuum tanker

Binder, a wastewater management company based in Ipswich, has purchased a new Mercedes-Benz Arocs eight-wheeler on finance. Used by the company to empty sewage plants and septic tanks throughout East Anglia, the vacuum tanker has joined the company’s fleet of 17 vehicles, the large majority of these being Mercedes-Benz models.

The third-generation family business has been using Mercedes-Benz trucks since the mid-1990s, and director Richard Binder says that the firm’s latest purchase was motivated by the “short notice” availability of Mercedes-Benz trucks, as well as their keen pricing and “highly competitive” maintenance packages.

New Mercedes Econic making a visible difference

London-based construction materials distributor Gold Fish Transport has added two new Mercedes-Benz Econic trucks to its fleet, in an effort to improve visibility for its drivers when they are transporting goods in the built-up urban areas of the capital.

The Econic utilises what Mercedes-Benz calls a “DirectVision cab”, with a deep glazed panoramic windscreen that the brand says provides “optimum visibility”, flanked on either side by inward-opening bus-style glass folding doors for ease of entry.

“The drivers are highly impressed with the range of vision they get from the low cab”, says Gold Fish Transport director Lee Nix. “They like the access, too – it’s very easy to cross the cab floor and step out through the folding passenger door”, Nix says.

PAV Haulage certifies two more Actros tractors

Essex-based PAV Haulage has added another two Mercedes-Benz trucks to its fleet, with the delivery of two used Actros tractors.

PAV runs 17 Mercedes trucks, including eight used Actros tractors. However, these latest two units are the first supplied under Mercedes’ recently-launched Certified used truck programme. They feature the BigSpace cab (flat floor, 2.5m wide), with 12.8-litre six-cylinder engines producing 450 hp.
