Lancashire Logistics, a refrigerated transport specialist, is planning on switching its fleet to Schmitz Cargobull’s trailer telematics.
The company has been impressed by the system’s capabilities following the acquisition of six new reefers.
Lancashire Logistics has taken on six Schmitz Cargobull Executive refrigerated trailers, all pre-equipped with the manufacturer’s telematics system and its own in-house developed refrigeration unit.
Fleet Engineer Peter Calow says that once the new trailers have delivered on their promise of improved efficiency, the rest of the company’s 27 reefers will be retrofitted with Schmitz Cargobull’s technology.
The system enables remote monitoring and temperature control, meaning that Lancashire Logistics is able to ensure that the goods in each trailer remain in perfect condition.
Calow commented: “We looked at a second manufacturer for these additions to our fleet, but the integrated telematics in Schmitz Cargobull’s Executive package is the one that gives us complete peace of mind that each load has been kept at the correct temperature throughout its journey.”
