Edwards Coaches receives four new Volvo buses

Edwards Coaches, one of the biggest coach operators in South Wales, has purchased four new Volvo MCV eVoRa buses and put them to work on its bus route that stretches from Pontypridd to Cardiff City Centre.

One of the key reasons behind the purchase was to improve the quality of the company’s local bus service. “Operations have been running smoothly and passengers have been giving excellent feedback”, says Edwards operations manager Alex Holland.

Taf Valley Coaches says new Volvo is ‘perfect’ for winding roads

Welsh coach firm Taf Valley has also purchased a Volvo MCV eVoRa, which is now in operation, ferrying local passengers along a bus line that runs from Haverfordwest and Carmarthen in South Wales.

“We know how reliable Volvo vehicles are, as we’ve had plenty of them”, says company founder Clive Edwards, also explaining that his new Volvo is a “perfect” fit for winding Welsh roads, as it is more compact than other buses in his fleet. “Being slightly smaller in length at 10.8 metres makes it much easier for the driver to handle.”

Hodgsons adds new Volvo coach to its fleet

In England, Volvo has also completed the delivery of a new 53-passenger B11R Jonckheere coach to Hodgsons Coach Operators, which is based in Barnard Castle, County Durham.

Company director Mark Hodgson says that the sale was motivated by the “great” customer service given by Volvo’s dealer network, and the quality and reliability of Volvo vehicles that Hodgsons has operated in the past.
